The World Cup is finally here. I hope I'm not the only one following it here?

It kicks off this Thursday at 1pm pacific time when host Brazil plays against Croatia.

How do you guys see the tournament going?
I'm unfortunately afraid of getting another korea/japan type world cup where a lot of the big teams play far from their expected level after an exhausting season. I hope I'm wrong but you can see the major injuries piling up already. Ultimately I see an efficient Brazil winning it all, not necessarily in a pretty fashion.

I don't think Brazil will win. Not good enough in the centre of midfield. I like Germany or Spain to win. Belgium and France are dark horses.

Germany is always a solid pick ... I do like what Brazil has though in that they tend to have far more workers than flair in their team ... when they work they tend to win (although the pressure on them will be massive).

Belgium will be a dark horse favorite 4 years from now ... but they are young this time. Getting to the quarters would be a really good tournament for them.

I always expect France to trip over themselves.
