First, she's now an Independent and does not caucus with DIMS. She's only aligned for committee purposes. But mostly it's because she makes fun of the Jell-O eating habits of the old white dudes in the party at luncheons. The Senators from the north and west like to top their Jell-O with cool whip while the southerners likes their cottage cheese.

Don't know why she isn't a republican. She is at least as conservative as several liberal Republicans. She started out as a Green Party member so at least in her younger days she was a commie. Maybe she has grown up but not grown up enough. Interesting if she can win re-election in 2024 as an independent after she refuses to do spit about the border.
