Sprinkle is on the clock. If nothing else was learned from Romar and Hop, giving non performers more tim is a losing proposition. A coach either has it or doesn’t.Then we decided to keep Romar way past his expiration because of that play and recruiting rankings for a few players, then after we sucked for years because of that we hired a guy with no NW recruiting ties that had 1 NIT year and 1 Regular Season CC and 1 First Round NCAA win, and kept him for another 5 years after he sucked ass starting the very next year with a couple of guys that are very good in the NBA right now.
That's how you get your "UW basketball hasn't done much in 30 years" result. 2 bad AD decisions and a refusal to correct course until after 3-5+ years of last place finishes.
Yeah, basketball was shockingly bad. The team was more competitive than a late stage cancer Hopkins season, but given that he had the time and money in a normal firing/hiring cycle and put forth some some guys that have no heart and seemed to just take a bag from their mid major schools..Sprinkle is on the clock. DeBoer was in a natty in year 2. Petersen made the semis in year 3. Basketball should be easier with the portal and a great system.
