West Salem tight end visits UW

Don't get too excited, yet. He still has to visit Boise State where they have a legacy of winning... and Washington State where they don't use TE's
 
Is anyone else a little concerned that we've offered a bunch of 3-star, NR players in the last couple weeks. I'm no TBS expert but we seem to be moving to a lot of Plan B guys

That's how recruiting always is. Washington will likely never be a school that pulls in 10-12 4*s or multiple 5*s consistently. The heart of the class, and every class, will be players offered during this spring eval period.
 
No interest here from Oregon because they already have a verbal from the #1 TE in the state, Cam McCormick, who also happens to be the #3 rated TE in the entire West. I'm old enough to recall when it was the Ducks getting the sloppy seconds. Some of you may not be...
 
To be fair, UW does very well with in-state TEs (ASJ and Kavario Middleton being the most notable of late).

Anyway, it's a down year for TEs on the West Coast but I'd be happy with Kizer in 2016 and this guy in 2017 (who used to live in WA State):

There are only a handful of teams this is not the mindset for: USC, Bama, and, at this point, UCLA and tOSU are the only schools that can count on multiple 5 star kids committing at the beginning and end of the recruiting cycle. Everyone else is pretty middle-heavy
 
what about all the 5*'s Oregon gets every year that are rated 2 and 3* by the rating experts?

Very good point. Oregon has recruited pretty well, but hey aren't close to the "Big Boys" yet they've found a way.
