I watched this game at a bar in SF and got high gives from loser Cal fans the rest of the day while walking around with a UW hat on. I think Cal was actually highly ranked at the time.
I watched this game in Afghanistan and got high fives from loser Taliban fans walking around our base.
Will always stick with me because I was new to LA at the time and pursuing creative stuff and told myself (especially after 2008) I was going to prioritize things I was actually involved in my life over sports so I went to a class during the game and turned my phone off. I came home to my box TV/VCR which only got network channels and it was the 4th quarter and my mind was blown. Was crazy because this was before smartphone and texting for the most part for me so it was mega shocking to come into at that poing.
The next week I changed my tune and was stoked for the Stanford game to immediately see us get pulverized by the Card.
Clearly I gave up on the whole prioritizing my actual life over sports thing.
