Vince Whaley plays from lake with a GATOR just feet away

It looked like it cleared the red hazard and went back into it. In which case he could have dropped with one penalty stroke near where he played from and near where his recovery shot ended up. If it was yellow he’d need to drop on the other side of the pond. Announcers are saying he saved a stroke by doing that but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
