If we left Iran alone it would be less than 10 years for some introspection. They have funded Hamas, Hezbollah, the Shias in Iraq, present in Syria and the Houthis. On top of the funding they were providing missiles and developing nuclear weapons. Iran was on the tipping point of overthrowing the mullahs in 2009 when barry tipped the scale in favor of the mullahs and released a $100 billion that took some of the economic pressure off the regime. Plenty of support, particularly in Tehran, as coog pointed out, for removing the mullahs. Notice the shot below from 2009, lots of women. Look at any Hamas pictures that they allow to be released and its all military men for some reason showing support for Hamas.just to throw this out there: people have been saying Iran is a fundamental problem on the funding terrorists front.
however it started, the Mullahs are on their heels right now and this is a real society that has been bristling against theocratic rule. seems like the gen pop is ready, at least in Tehran.
may not want to risk finding ourselves 10 years from now saying “shit we shoulda …”
I don’t think this leaves the power vacuum that we saw in Iraq.
