And jw shows us again how much of a dipshit he is. Posters like him are just void of any honesty or integrity.
I have an old friend in cattle. Its been his families living for over 175 years. When I asked him about the cattle supply issues a couple of months ago (I was complaining about the price of beef) he explained that this has been happening over the last 15 years but it is a multifactor situation. Trump has had nothing to do with it. He has over 200,000 acres with 1000's of angus cattle and his family has been very conservative with their investments over the last 100 years so he is doing well. His biggest challenge is actually the environmentalists who keep trying to force the government to take control over parts of his land.

The fundamental driver behind the Lexington plant closure is the U.S. cattle supply situation. The national cattle herd is at its lowest level since 1950, a 70-year low. This shortage stems from:
  1. Multi-year drought in Texas and Southern Plains states that burned up pasture and increased feeding costs
  2. Improved beef efficiency leading to more beef per carcass due to in part genetic improvements 
  3. Slower-than-expected herd rebuilding due to aging producers, higher interest rates, and producer desires to pay down debt leading to less heifer retention
  4. Recent disruptions including the closure of the Southern border to Mexican feeder cattle due to New World screwworm concerns

Simpleton believes that a huge company like Tyson would shut down an entire plant due to what has only happened in the 10 months prior.
