Way behind but just watched the show and holy shit... If you didn't watch the first season you need to.

Also game of thrones finally had 1 good episode in this incredibly shitty season.
 
It's Thursday and it's past noon. Thursday is one of my days off. On my days off I start drinking at noon. You don't get to interrupt that.
 
The 4th episode of True Detective was an all timer. On the whole, the show was pretty good. The middle of it was awesome. The beginning was kind of slow and the end wasn't all that climatic. I'd give it a solid 4 boners out of 5. I'm looking forward to the next season.

This exactly. It was building up to be something epic. Then it just ended okay.

I have a feeling putting Vince Vaughn and Farrell on this show is like putting Sark as Head coach at SC - they're gonna fuck it up.

You do realize season 1 starred Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, right?
 
I'm a little disappointed they are taking all the Lovecraftian occult stuff out of the 2nd season. Originally those themes were going to tie the seasons together. Apparently the new season is just going to be a cop drama.

As for GoT, they've gone way off the reservation in terms of following the books and I really have no idea where they are going to go next season. In some storylines, they are already past book 5 (Daenerys and Tyrion) and in some they are still back in book 3 (the Greyjoys-not Theon). Also, the Jaime goes to Dorne plotline is absolutely terrible.
