Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Utah and Washington are the contenders.

Signing Day in February is the likely decision date.

“Once I take my officials,” Tufele said.
.....
Obviously Tufele has been impressed with the way the undefeated fifth-ranked Huskies have been playing.

“Shoot Washington, they’ve been on my tale for a while and they’ve just proved what they’ve been telling me,” he said. “They told me they’d have a heck of a team this year and it’s paying off. Coach Ikaika Malloe is an awesome d-line coach, I’ve known him since he was at Utah State and me and him have a great relationship. (Fellow US Army All-American) Marlon Tuipulotu is one of my good friends and he’s committed up there and it would be nice to play with him too.”

Getting Tufele would be insane, but he's probably on the same path as Devin Asiasi last year.

He'll visit in January, take his decision all the way to signing day, then head off to the B1G to play for either Harbaugh or Meyer. We'll all know he isn't coming here, but still have that buried sense of optimism that he might until it's inevitably crushed.

We don't need another DT. We're just still recruiting him because he's a guy that you find room for. If we land him, it's a bonus. Might as well give him your best shot and see what happens. We're playing with house money after landing Tuipulotu already.

Most think he's staying home so he can go 8-4 every year. If he picks UW (along with how the D-line has been playing, Malloe will level up to Jimmy Lake status

Yeah, probably. But at this point last year I would've mocked you if you'd told me we'd get Byron Murphy and Levi O., so you never know.

The other advantage we have is he's literally our only DL target. So Malloe can spend all his time on him.

But, I see your point. I'm just saying it wouldn't shock me if we got a kid like this guy, whether it's him or not.

Him and Tuipulotu? Definite Push Up the Middle.

Might be pressing here, but he's a Samoan kid and so is out DL coach. Forgive me about the differences between Hawaiian and Samoan. It can't hurt though.

It's the #1 reason Marlon Tui committed here. On his unofficial visit, Malloe started speaking in Tongan to Marlon's mother who barely speaks english.

I watched the UW episode of the Drive for about the 10th time last night. There is a moment on the show when they are featuring Mathis and you can see Levi close to Joe. Levi makes Mathis look small and undefined physically. Levi looks like an absolute beast. I cant wait to see that kid play.
