Washington is already in a strong position early in the 2027 recruiting cycle.

The Huskies have seven commitments entering Friday: wide receivers Braylon Pope and Zerek Sidney, linebackers (and brothers) Ethan and Justin Coach and Titus Osterman, defensive lineman Matamatagi Uiagalelei and cornerback Maurice Williams. Their 2027 class currently ranks No. 8 nationally, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Coach Jedd Fisch and his Husky football staff have an opportunity to make some important impressions and potentially add some more commitments this weekend when the Huskies host a large group of high school recruits in Seattle for junior day.

So here are three players who will be on campus this weekend to know about. Additionally, this list will not include recruits that Rivals national recruiting analyst Brandon Huffman named among his five players UW must land in 2027 that are also visiting this weekend like O’Dea defensive lineman Tevita Nonu, who is expected to be in attendance.

OL Lincoln Mageo — Oceanside High, Oceanside, Calif.

On Feb. 25, Oceanside offensive lineman Lincoln Mageo announced his top seven schools: Arizona, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, UCLA, Utah and Washington. The Huskies will get the first opportunity to bring Mageo on campus since he named his recruiting leaders, he told The Times.

Mageo, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound Southern California native, is considered a four-star offensive lineman, the No. 31 player in California, the No. 16 interior offensive lineman and the No. 358 player nationally, according to the composite rankings. Mageo was teammates with linebacker Ezaya Tokio, who signed with UW during the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Washington does not yet have any offensive line commits, and took just one interior offensive lineman during the past cycle — Puyallup High’s Ah Deong Yang. Mageo has trips to his other top programs planned throughout the next two months, but UW has a chance to set the standard for the rest of his visits this weekend.

OL Reis Russell — Valor Christian High, Littleton, Colo.

Mageo won’t be the only offensive lineman on Montlake this weekend. Reis Russell, another longtime UW target, is also expected to visit for junior day, according to posts on his social media accounts.

Russell, a 6-3 1/2, 290-pound interior offensive lineman from Colorado powerhouse Valor Christian High, has visited Washington several times since picking up a scholarship offer from the Huskies a year ago. He’s a three-star prospect, the No. 6 player in Colorado, the No. 49 interior offensive lineman and the No. 814 player nationally. Russell has played guard and center during his time at Valor Christian.

UW was recently named among Russell’s top six schools on Feb. 3, joining Florida, Georgia, Miami, Oregon and SMU. He will officially visit Washington on June 19.

QB Blake Roskopf — Desert Edge High, Goodyear, Ariz.

Huffman wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about the West Coast quarterback prospects in the 2027 cycle. But Washington, he noted, is in contention for two of the best — Tacoma’s Lincoln High signal caller Sione Kaho and Arizona native Blake Roskopf.

A 6-5, 235-pound quarterback from Goodyear, Ariz., Roskopf is a four-star prospect, the No. 3 player in Arizona, the No. 12 quarterback in the country and the No. 148 player nationally, according to the composite rankings. He indicated he will be in Seattle this weekend in posts on his social media accounts.

“Big frame, big-bodied signal caller with college size right now,” Greg Biggins, former 247Sports national recruiting analyst, wrote Sept. 29, 2025. “Arm talent really pops off the screen, big arm and the ball jumps out of his hand. Shows off easy velocity, can get the ball down the field with little wasted motion. Pure pocket guy but shows the ability to escape pressure and is comfortable throwing outside the pocket as well.”

During his junior season at Desert Edge High — where he played alongside current UW wide receiver commit Zerek Sidney — Roskopf completed 66.1% of his passes for 2,815 yards passing and 37 touchdowns against just eight interceptions while helping Desert Edge reach the state quarterfinals in Arizona’s Conference 5A.

Roskopf, who indicated he will visit UW for junior day with posts on his social media accounts, hasn’t named a final group of schools but will reportedly also take visits to North Carolina, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, Arkansas and Mississippi State

“Can get the ball out quick from different arm angles and is comfortable changing speeds as well,” Biggins wrote. “Throws with anticipation and looks to have a good feel for going through his progressions and throwing his receivers open.”
