As the most recent team to #dosomething nationally (even though they fell short in that attempt), they and not Stanford are the team to beat. If they drop off now, their recruiting efforts will take a big hit as talent that was bound for Seattle and Los Angeles heads to Eugene instead.

As for the fallen empire, it needs an important triumph, a foundation on which to build a new empire and regain the greatness of the past, and then exceed it. The upstarts who are temporarily occupying our seat of power will be defeated and sent back to Seattle with a warning and a message. Oregon is officially BACK.
