The things that cost the GOP from winning bigger in the election

First off, Lake and Masters will win. If Laxalt wins, the GOP looks like they have the Senate 51-48 and waiting on the GA runoff. The GOP will have about a 10-15 seat lead in the House. We won't know the final numbers for everything for another 7-10 days because the Dems are slow-walking this.

But here are the things that hurt the GOP badly and prevented The Red Wave everyone anticipated

Corporate GOP abandoned several MAGA candidates. They clearly didn't want MAGA candidates to win

The GOP never attempted to respond to the abortion issue. They were too afraid of angering voters.

The many thousands of people that left PA and NY for Florida, probably impacted the PA and NY races with their absence.

Democrats brilliantly used TikTok influencers and that got Gen Z voters out in droves. Few people saw that coming.

McCarthy played limp-wristed and played everything with a 3 wood right down the middle. Never went on the attack

NRCC had a coordinated effort to sabotage MAGA candidates. McCarthy literally told one candidate who lost that he needed to get in line and use their consultants or else he would receive no money from the party. He refused and therefore was denied funds, and McCarthy stopped returning his calls.

Some uniparty GOP are now saying that the path forward is to reach across the aisle and work with Democrats. No, absolutely not! The corporate GOP needs to go. McCarthy must go and McConnell must go. They are the enemy within.

Back on topic. Say what you want about Cruz (and I have), but he has good political instincts nowadays. While everyone else is whining (me included) he was on the first plane to Georgia to support Walker. I assume he plans to give it a go in 24 again.
