The article covers all the money that the tribe donates to Repubs and Dems and their individual PACs. I find most interesting is Graham SC senator got this passed so they could build the casino in North Carolina and evade the laws of South Carolina.
He is just doing what the South Carolinians voters wanted from him. I always am glad to see the Defense Spending bill address the concerns of an Indian Nation and a way to escape state law.

For the Catawba, the inclusion of the amendment is the product of a nearly decadelong effort to exempt themselves from a 1993 settlement with the U.S. government that, in exchange for federal recognition, subjected the tribe to South Carolina’s state gambling laws, rather than the more flexible federal Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
