They don't even try to defend their spending priorities when as you say, nothing can be done because it doesn't make a difference because the deficit is so big. The number one priority of the FAA should be airflight safety for the flying American public. Leftards think it is hiring DEI employees over more competent white males. No attempt to defend this new priority. Just like the Secret Service. Top priority should be protecting the President and those running for President. Leftards made it hiring an incompetent woman for Director and then having her mandate that 30% of Secret Service Agents should be women by 2030. I've seen no attempt to defend DEI as the top priority over competency in the core mission, just nothing can be cut. Same with the US military, top priorities became DEI and climate change and wasting money on electric tanks and drag queen shows on military bases.
