What determines the Rose bowl selection? I thought it was a 2/3 matchup but is that just set by the committee or is it the first place team that gets to choose or something strange like that

A damn near 100% chance Michigan takes the Rose Bowl. Besides them just genuinely preferring it, there's no way they'd choose the Sugar Bowl and willingly put themselves at a travel disadvantage to either Bama, FSU, or Texas.

Crazy. New Orleans is certainly closed for Michigan but you may not want to make it easy for whoever they're going to play and if that's Alabama you probably want to take the Rose bowl. Let's hope that Michigan barely squeaks and we get the number one and can choose.
