THE RYDER CUP 2025

The whining about that Hovland injury is that Europe was automatically awarded 1/2 a point for that match for a tie.
At the time they already had 11 1/2 points banked and needed 14 to win. Giving Europe that 1/2point without a match being contested pushed them closer to that 14 points. It didn't seem like a big deal at the time, but the US team came dangerously close to making it an issue yesterday.
That's a dumb rule. That should be a 1 point forfeit to the US, not a way to earn (half) points without playing.

Scottie's lead as world #1 is not as large as the stat itself indicates. Rory is on his tail and if Rahm was playing the tour full time he might be #1 himself. Really would be nice to get the band back together
And I've heard enough whining from Rory. Europe is hardly choir boys when the matches are across the pond. Hopefully Rory becomes hated full time in America at every event

I may be mistaken, but I don't recall Rahm having a year like Scottie is having. Scottie really has had truly a special few years.
However you could be right, it could be that also the players like Rahm, Koepka, and Dechambeau haven't been around to challenge him in those tour events leading to his elevated success.

Rahm’s 2021 was pretty fucking good. Not as good as Scottie’s but still great. Had he not been forced to withdraw from the Memorial with a 6 shot lead for Covid, he would have also won that one plus the FedEx cup.

This. Scottie is #1. I just think it'd be closer. I also think regular tour play helps in the majors
