The line

I get it. Every one in America knows the line is set to get balanced bets. But 12.5 dogs last year and 10 point dogs last night. People said Vegas must know something. I said they know how to get Oregon fans money

Combine that with Husky fans still suffering from PTSD and reluctant to bet and you get a big line that doesn't reflect the emotion on the field. That should change as Husky Arrogance is welcomed back to bigtime football.

It also shows the power of media - social and legacy - to set a narrative and how many folks just follow along

Oregon didn't tell all the pundits to go full retard but it sure played into the hands of the DAWGS

I'm thinking that these teams are about 3 points apart

Home, away, neutral field

Maybe London or Berlin?

The entire Oregon fanbase bears responsibility for modeling 12-15 different victories, natties, and heismans over the last week.

Ducks were NOT hungry out there.

UW was >10 points better last night. The score line was flattering to Oregon.

I was more nervous at 17-3 and 20-10 than when UW fell behind. I knew that was coming. And when it was close in the 4th I knew who would win

I was not trolling with my 20 point win prediction. I felt UW was going to do it for 60 minutes. But 3 points is fine

falling behind was when my nerves finally let up. they just know how to close. i cant doubt it anymore

The entire Oregon team from coaches on down were way keyed up. UW and Kalen knew how it would end.

Oddly, I was never concerned during the game. DeBoer's Dawgs have been more physical and more mentally tough than Lanniing's duck skwad, both last year and this year. The Dawgs are also healthier than they've been since the beginning of the season, and were in position to blow the ducks out in both the regular season game and the CCG. The Huskies simply have a better team. Better players on the field and better coached. Best team in the PAC. Nuff said.

The media is lazing. The look at box scores and highlights. They don’t watch the actual games.

I was feeling great because UW is finally the team they were in the first 6 weeks. Health wise, attitude, everything.

JMac adds a huge dimension, he is every bit as important as Rome (almost). Dillon is a fucking stud.

Fucking Asa was a sight for sore eyes. Lot of shit going right.

Beating up on bad or (struggling) decent teams isn’t the same skill set as winning tight games against good teams.

The metrics have made CFB even more retarded.

People think they can diagnose how good a team really is by analyzing blowouts against shitty teams, rather than looking at head to head.

Exhibit A: Oregon and national sports media.

CFB has always been a beauty contest, but a beauty contest with "scientific" assurance is even more stupid.

ESPN has had a hard-on for the Ducks ever since their biggest advertiser was Nike.
They actually talked decent about the UW this year, just not in the fucked up FPI programming.
Sagarin was another one that had the Ducks way high - both programs must give bonus poonts for blow outs.

People fall for the hype

I haven't looked in the details for years but Sagarin definitely favors higher margin of victory. It caps at like 3 scores so as not to incentivize running up the score but the philosophy is that a 14 point win is better than a 3 point win.

Agree, I was actually somewhat glad it was 4 pts behind as well because they would need to score a touchdown.

I'm a huge believer in not kicking field goals to go up by 6. Coming back the other way teams will pull out every trick and 4th down play if they know they need a TD. If they only need a FG to tie teams often get squirrelly and dink around until they give their kicker a 42 yarder.
