Hockey is a club sport still at UO just like UW.
ASU has a varsity program now as you mention.
I thought when UW played them in Bend and lost they tweeted something like, "Not bad for going against DI"
Drop a bunch of sports to be DI. Needs to happen. ASU has an NHL team that literally plays in their arena.
I can’t speak to to the D1 twatt but if they aren’t listing Hockey on GoDucks.com it’s not a varsity sport.
I am indifferent to adding Hockey. But I don’t know what sport you’d cut or where the money would come from.
UW already runs a fairly lean list of Men’s varsity programs when you think about it. No Volleyball, Wrastling, Waterpolo, Swimming, etc.
Crew is really the only niche Mens Varsity program UW competes in.

I'm just glad our? AD used a horribly modified weasel logo for the alumni tailgate in New Orleans this year. That was very smart.
