The City that Never Sweeps

Was there last week, it was a total shit show on the streets. Walls of snow piled up where cars normally park and pull over. Locals say it normally gets done way better. Businesses shoveling snow out of their entrances and blocking competitors.
 
For those that frequent NYC like I do, I’m always in awe when I’m out walking at 630 am to grab a coffee and there are walls of garbage organized ready for pickup everyday in front of every store, rain or shine. By the time you get back to the hotel and walk out at 8am they are always cleared. It’s pretty remarkable.

Because the snow has just been pressed to the curb, the garbage has just been sitting there all day. And the snow walls now are getting that garage water stain color to them. Mixed in with pet urine. Once it all melts it’s going to be truly disgusting.
