Our long national nightmare is almost over as the Washington Huskies prepare for the Escape From Los Angeles Bowl with yet another match up with long time non rival Boise State. A no win game where a win is meaningless and a loss doesn't much matter either since Judd Finch turned down several offers from big time schools to stay at Washington for the foreseeable future or at least through the bowl game
It was conference championship game weekend which was completely meaningless and not very interesting with the notable exception of Bobby Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers capping off an unbeaten championship season. The plucky Indiana squad knocked off Ohio State with the best defense in college football and just enough offense to take it 13-10 in a throwback Big Ten Iowa game. The Hoosiers enter the Big Dance as the top seed and will play in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1967. But before you say anything you can't compare Fisch to Cig. Cig is way too good.
Kalen DeBoer finished his second season at 18-6 with a SEC Championship loss same as Nick Saban who lost to Urban Legend in 2008 in his second year. Jimmy Sexton was seen in the Atlanta Falcons owner's box. Was there a deal that screwed two teams more than DeBoer to Bama? Arizona was the big winner. Hopefully the misfortune of the Tide will keep the doogs warm over the long winter of recruiting news
As we go to press the tournament field is not announced because it just doesn't matter. The winner will be one of the three B1G teams and it isn't close. Whatever teams that get in or don't aren't winning shit anyway.
Congratulations to our team of the year, the ACC Champion Duke Blue Devils coached by former Cane coach Manny Diaz. Miami is still looking for that first ACC title.
Have a great off season and we'll see you in what sets up to be a special 2027 season. Or 2028

Race, the 2026 guys will still be young in 2028. Just wait until they mature. 2029 has a real chance to be special.

I never signed off on the losing your championship game is meaningless narrative.

Deboer to the Falcons and all of Jimmy’s clients get another round of raises.

Neither did I, especially if you get your ass kicked by a team that is also going to be in the playoffs. Why? So we can see you play them for a third time? JFC.
If the conference ship doesn't mean anything, then maybe the conferences don't either and we can all go be independent. How would that be?

Judd needs to beat Boise by at least 3 scores or it’ll be a long off season. If it’s less than 21 or if somehow he kicks this game shutter the program. Pea patch. 9-4, great portal additions and the guys working harder than ever and I can Doog a little until fall.

I don’t care much right now about this game, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the UW players are a bit blasé about it
I expect Boise to be greased up though.
Boise 21, UW 12

Chip Kelly said as much and I 100% agree: Get rid of the conferences, create one geographically divided league like the NFL, and away you go.

The conferences are just another middle man with their hand in the pot at this point.

Regionalization with relegation would be awesome.

Wrong direction. Too many teams with no goals or achievements. 10 team conferences meant a dozen teams had a chance to win their league but now a dozen teams have a chance to have their season crushed by Indiana

They're going to have to do that, separate of the NCAA, in order to get rid of the G5 teams getting participation bids every year. Anti-trust is a bitch.
