Smokeless Fire Pit ?

I'm not allowed to have a real wood fire pit here. Sad.
Just a wimpy propane thingy with some fake rocks.

I have a friend who built one similar to that, it doesn't work very well. THe thing with the smoke-less pits is that you have to burn them REALLY HOT in order to reburn the oxygen that comes back into the pit at the top. The solo stoves work so well because they are compacy and kind of hold the heat in to burn hotter than an open pit.

At any rate, it kind of works, but not as well as just buying a solo stove.
