Hard to imagine something more disappointing than a Grubb or Shephard hire.

I like Shephard a lot, but this is not the time to promote from within.

We need a Pete Carroll or Petersen, and if not them, a Klieman or someone else that is legit and has done it before at a place with less resources.

Bama wanted Grubb last year and Sheppard is a wanted commodity what with Georgia poaching their recruiters. It probably isn't them.

And yes at a minimum, day 1 especially in this situation if you don't have backup candidates at all times you can't be an AD anywhere in power 5.

As much as everyone shits on UW AD, zero doubt they didn't get a candidate list going when DeBoer didn't sign the extent the first time.
