Need to act quickly to preserve recruiting. You can't just mail in a class. It haunts you for years.
I was being facetious. When Woodward "fired" Willingham in week 6, he allowed Willingham to coach the team another 7 weeks. His reasoning was that Willingham leaving right away would "orphan" the team.
Though when I was interviewing Woodward in 2010, he said that he was more inclined to have Willingham leave right away, but that Emmert was more concerned about orphaning the team.
