Replacement has to be a sitting college HC

With the mass portal exodus going on right now and the fact it's too late for other kids to enter the portal other than the 30 day HC leaving window, you have to hire somebody who can bring kids with him. It's survival of the fittest. Preaching to the choir on coordinators but the Georgia DC, Grubb, etc are not options at all in this scenario. In this situation I don't think NFL guys are either (and my initial reaction was Pete Carroll would have been a great fit).

It's Jedd Fisch, Lance Leopold, Jonathan Smith or bust. Fisch seems to have the most available talent on hand. I hope he's the guy.

2024 is going to be a throw away year. Get the right guy, not the most convenient for one season.

In most situations I would agree with this but as bad as the talent drain is going to get here and the way the deck is stacked against us important talent I think you have to do something immediate. Unless you just fully give up and promote an assistant as a one year sacrificial lamb. But you can't bring a new coach in, have him win 2 games after a 14 win year and expect him to start building from that. You have to stop the bleeding.

I mean, the logic is sound, but bringing players from Kansas probably isn't even a short term solution.

Yeah Michigan State may be the same. Fisch is the only guy I feel real good about.

Yep. And then pray Napier gets his shit together at UF.

To me, this is where Peterman has to prove some value to the UW for the paychecks he's still getting. He needs to be selling UW to his coaching buddies like never before.

Never mind. That would be too hard.

Fisch would be off to Florida at the drop of a hat. Is that what you want?

Even if that happens it's not after the portal window has closed and all the good candidates have been hired. You have to get someone who can restock the talent right now or things are going to be very bleak.

Now that he's done his FBS primer at CU, he's ready for UW Prime?

I not advocating this. but he has guysm to bring.

That would be amazing, if only for the rivalry.
