How important are these types of guys for a program like UW to compete for championships? Back when you guys played, did a fair portion of those types of recruits emerge into contributors? Did DJ's staff have an ability to surprise you with lower tier recruits?
What should Petersen look for in these types of guys? Is it a specialist type talent or someone who can play special teams and be a trusted backup?
I ask because word was that Sark was pretty lazy in his last few years with regards to guys who weren't 4 and 5 star guys. I just looked at the 2012 & 2013 classes and the lower half is providing little to the program right now.
