It is no secret that many us (chest & roaddawg) are very high on Dwayne Washington to be next in line to be a husky great.

When everyone thought Polk couldn't be replaced, there was this kid Sankey who as freshman averaged 6.7 yards per carry on 28 touches. How many of you would take Polk over Sankey now?

Washington as a freshman averaged 7.1 yards per carry on 47 carries and had a monster game against the infamous sark's job saving blowout of Oregon State averaging 12.1 yards per carry.

It is funny, that many people always mention his fumbles against Illinois which is total BS. One was very questionable and the second one he was bent in half by three guys.

Tui said it a year ago that Washington reminded him of Corey Dillon being that he is 6'2" and just shy of 220 lbs. He is a north/runner with incredible burst for his size.

A veteran o-line and what looks to be a stable of backs, could we see a husky team of old that relies heavily on the running game, defense, and great special teams?

The dawgs don't need outstanding QB play, they need a QB that doesn't turn the ball over and can complete crucial 3rd downs. I am not sure the job will be handed to Miles.

I fucking love Dwayne WASHINGTON, dammit, but the Dillon name should only be mentioned in hush tones. There's almost no way Washington is that physical, even with that size. Dillon was a fucking man.

IMO the guy he reminds me off is Tyrone Wheatley. That would be the ultimate best case scenario for Washington, IMO.
 
I'm really seriously concerned about his well-documented fumbling issues. Seems like every other time he touched the ball, it was on the ground.
 
I like that every national outlet is making a big deal of losing Sankey. It's like we've lost the running back position for good and can only play with 10 guys.

Sure, the 4 returning RBs might not be as talented as Sankey, who had unparalleled vision, but any of these guys are capable of becoming a 1,000 yard rusher with their talent, this OL and this system.

It's a position battle to watch during fall camp, but I am confident we'll find another outstanding RB this year, whether it be Washington or Coleman or Cooper or Callier.

Did the guy ever hand the ball to an official after a run. I only remember him fumbling every time.
 
I'm reminded of the fumbling issue that the Seahawks had with Ahmad Green. So they traded him to Greenbay. One of the worst trades in history.

The kid needs coached up, remember, our top RB coach took off to Arkansas.

I take responsibility for that so I'll give you a straight answer.

I agree.

People said Polk couldn't be replaced and we all know how Sankey turned out. Just as you said the QB needs to be more of a game manager and clutch 4Q player, I'd say the RB doesn't need to be super elite to flourish behind our veteran OL. I disagree with you that the QB play is still wide open. Reading between the lines of Ben Riva's interview during P12 media day, I'd say it was very clear that they (or at least the OL players) expect Miles to be the starter.
