It's not that I'm new or slow, just that I usually never look past the next game which of course this week is a very beatable CAL. However, taking a peek down the road which I normally wouldn't do if our season wasn't hovering just above the toilet, I noticed for the first time that we have a Bye on November 2, sandwiched in between arguably the two weakest opponents on our 2016 conference schedule (donut hole ISU doesn't count). Another genius scheduling quirk. Two weeks to get ready for the Buffs or...... nurse bumps and bruises after the mighty tough and physical Bears!
Will the Bye allow enough inactivity for KP's thumb to heal if he's held out of the CAL game? It would mean at least three weeks of mending and rest and if Sark's second-string QB does okay on Saturday, KP could be held out of the Colorado game as well if needed to get his thumb ready for UCLA back on the dreaded road again. Of course, Sark will need to find an OL that can block and protect as well as get off the bus, which might be possible against blocking sleds CAL and Colorado. And Wilcox will somehow have to find the time to get his Husky defenders in condition by running stairs through the Bye and remainder of the Huskies Pac-12 schedule. Who's looking forward to the Rose Bowl, Burrito Bowl, and Apple Cup now? Piece of cake........
