The playoff system is fine as it is. Adding more teams is like adding too many bowl games in college football.
The players endure a massive physical toll from playing football. To add more games to the regular season just to make even more money is to kill the golden goose.

The owners divided and conquered. Shameful what they did to the former players. Many have been reduced to dead men walking. Fuck those who say the players are to blame. They're not looking for easy street, just enough to pay their medical bills and rent. Nobody knew the damage from repeated head trauma. The least the owners can do is take care of those who built the league into a multi-billion dollar behemoth.
You don't up the league minimum by 30% just because. When 60% of the bargaining unit falls under this umbrella, you know it was done so the owners could cut the liability cord to the former players off. Instant gratification, todays players will pay the price down the road.
