@Logistics @SwoopTheMoon As pilots, can you confirm this expert analysis that if you land so hard and crush the landing gear, that the plane will have problems? That’s news to me
I'm not a pilot. But my brother is a retired airline pilot and my high school buddy is about to retire from the airlines after flying Harriers for the Marine corps from Desert Storm to Bosnia. He is currently the FAA designee for a major airline. I'll take their word for what likely happened.
I have flown the large very expensive full motion simulators at a major airline. I can fly approach and land a 767/400 without crashing it. Did it multiple times. But I am not an expert in any way. Taxiing the damn thing on the ground is some weird shit though!
