Phil Bleenor likes Wilcox

"Our best shot if we can't land Campbell is to hire Wilcox and give him a great staff budget"

Wilcox brings Bleenor's Walla Walla homeboy Peter Sirmon to run the defense.

We get two more seasons of Jackson Sirmon at linebacker.

Phil (and Ken Griswold) get to be insiders.

Win-win for all of us.

If sirmon starts over breuner next year we deserve Owen twelve regardless of who the coach is.

I would allow Jen Cohen to give me a tiity fuck if she flat-out excommunicated Fleenor from everything to do with UW athletics. That guy and his club section cheeseburger can go DIAFF.

I remember Fleenor going off on a rant against me when I said Edsall was going to be a failure at Maryland. One of many examples over the years where his track record speaks for itself. I wish he was a duck fan so he could go sabotage their program.... (well, assuming anyone other than phil knight has a say)

lol

You would think from his decisions and posts that his lifelong goal is to never see Washington win a NY6 again.

This is 100% about access to the program and nothing else.

Good head coaches have assistants come and go. If the merits of a hire are that[/i] dependent on an assistant staff, you already lost.

Chest, who I like a lot generally, has been hyping Wilcox as well and downplaying DeBoer for lack of “personality” — whatever that means — as if it matters a ton when you’ve always had very good D1 offenses and won national titles as a head coach. James and Pete were ornery as fuck.

One coach has massive upside and won at a ridiculous level on the lower level, the other has objectively failed as a power five HC but could potentially, if the stars align, do better at a program with more resources. Which do you choose?

I can’t get over Wilcox shuffling coordinators, including hiring some very good ones on paper, but nonetheless failing. How could you possibly sell that to a fanbase when you desperately need to get season tickets going again?

The people who are pushing hard for Wilcox (Kim, Fleenor, Wilner, Baird, Doog Fain) are all on the list of the last people I would want making the coach hiring decision
