Their GM and Belicheat don't really have super stars beyond Brady, and Gronk is a Pro Bowler I believe. Hernandez might have been before he killed people.
They don't have great running backs going back to probably Dillon which was mid 2000s.
They don't have outstanding, superstar, burner receivers. The last one was Moss, who was on the tail end of his career. Edelman and Amendola are try hard white dudes. So was Welker.
Their defense sucked over the first four or five games, but now they've won ten in a row after a shaky start. It's not elite by any stretch, but they're willing to give up yards between the 20s so long as there aren't too many touchdowns. Can you name a player on their defense besides Chung? I can't.
The point is, it works, along with cheating, and all teams at least bend the rules or push them pretty far.
Giving several Seahawks yuge contracts isn't working right now. Five of them are injured. They were competitive over the past two seasons, but they lost in the second round, and they weren't even competitive (sort of against Carolina, but they dug themselves a gigantic hole and it never should have gotten that bad). Their offensive line is a joke, as is the running game. The run seems to be ending before our eyes and they should have won two Super Bowls with all the talent they had. What a shame. The Patriot way has worked for about 15 years though. They've had 15 straight 10 win seasons (16 of 17). They're basically a lock for the AFC Least, and they've made six Super Bowls and won four.
