Please explain how judges are selected in the State of Oregon: Circuit Court and higher. District Courts were eliminated over 20+ years ago.
They face re-election once appointed. What happens when one resigns or retires mid-term? Who makes the appointment?
How many years have the Democrats been in control of the Governor’s position?
Think that may have a tad to due with the judicial temperament of judges appointed in Oregon the past 35 years?
How else could the Court of Appeals come up with a ruling making possessing a stolen car,(Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle), a Class C felony, practically unprovable?

Meanwhile, the Portland citizen gets to contact their insurance company; pay to get it out of towing yard and whatever co-pays they have on their insurance policy if it isn’t totaled by the insurance company.
The young offenders will get a stern lecture from a Juvenile Court judge and a slap on the wrist.
