Just rolled into Eugene, Dawg fans, and… uh… where my Dawgs at?!?!
I mean, I’ve been on I-5 since sunrise, dodging Subaru caravans and folks hauling craft-beer kegs like it’s the Oregon Trail reboot, and when I finally pull up to Autzen Country… crickets. Not even a single Duck fan out here practicing their patented “quack at anything purple” routine.
I expected a full-blown parade of neon-green ponchos, people arguing about which IPA pairs best with losing to Washington, maybe even a dude on a unicycle juggling kombucha bottles. Instead? Nothing. Just me, a couple confused squirrels, and the faint smell of rain, despair, and whatever that mossy-green aroma is they all swear is “nature.”
Meanwhile, the Husky energy is STRONG. I’ve got UW flags flying off the car like it’s the Rose Bowl, a playlist full of “Bow Down,” and the quiet confidence of a program that doesn’t need 47 uniform combinations to feel good about itself.
Honestly starting to wonder if Duck fans forgot there’s a game tomorrow. Maybe they’re all at home knitting new scarves from recycled tie-dye hemp fibers or something.
Anyway, this Dawg is here, purple is popping, Autzen is suspiciously calm, and I’m ready for tomorrow’s tilt. Let’s make Eugene remember why the kids call UW the BEST school in America.
