I joked with my family right before the kick that Auburn had a better chance of scoring on the play than Alabama did.

Disagree. Misery, the SC Cocks, or teams that have trouble beating Georgia And Washington State at home don't belong anywhere but the Citrus Bowl (that's a real bowl that's now named after a credit card company in Orlando for you youngsters).
