Basketball didn’t need NIL. Guys have been getting paid forever. The one and done’s are rarely worth it and the teams with good upperclassmen win.

The general point is sound, but still.
 
Basketball is a different animal. If one guy gets hot, he can change an entire game. You have a Saint Peters every season it seems like, while they don’t exist much in football.

Kentucky hasn’t been really good for awhile. This was their best regular season in years and the biggest reason for their success was a transfer. That seems to be the case for most schools in basketball now.
 
Basketball could be a prequel to NIL/portal football. The schools that are doing well have second, third and fourth year players with a healthy portion of transfers.

Duke getting boatraced by UNC last week, Kentucky getting dumped by St. Peter's. 18 year old kids are not physically prepared to competed with 23 year old damned men.

Albeit a 7-3 unicorn in Holmgren is an entirely different beast for Gonzaga. Though people forget Ballo at Arizona would have stayed at GU if Holmgren hadn't showed up.
