NFL Primetime

Back in the late 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, it was a great show. It used to start at 4:00, back when all the late games started right at 1. It was just pure highlights & a little analysis. Berman and TJ were a great team. There were no talking heads.

I don't know how the four letter, with all their zillions of dollars, f***** up the rights to those highlights. I think NBC has them, and they are too busy with Tony Dungy preaching Church values and Costas teasing the upcoming game. They don't do it right. At all. NFL Network is a joke with Michael Irvin and neon Deion yelling all the time. It's a shame it's gone away.

I've never seen Redzone. I think Cocks advertised it for $39.95 for the rest of the year. NFL Primetime still needs to come back.

NFL Primetime is dead for contractual reasons around Sunday Night Football.

Once you have Redzone, you don't care about the highlight shows much anymore.

Back then they were really the only highlight show on TV. A few others were out there but everyone tuned into Berman & TJ giving highlights and making up names for players. I believe ESPN had the rights to the sunday night game back then. He would do the 'fastest 2 minutes in sports' during halftime. It was before fantasy football got big as well.

I watch redzone while betting on games and playing fantasy but that show used to be great. Miss it as well.

It's true, I had never sat on the couch for 8 hours continuous until red zone showed up.
Those Motorola Droids look pretty sweet all of a sudden too.
