I saw some dumb shit on facebook yesterday telling women who are victims of domestic abuse but cant speak to anyone about it because "he is always watching you" to draw a big black dot on their hand to let other people know.

Of course they're missing the logical conclusion that, if this were the case
A ) the abuser probably monitors your facebook; and
B ) he'll beat the shit out of you and lock you in your room when he sees the dot on your hand

I just don't get what it accomplishes, besides annoying people and making people who participate think that a 30 second act will do something.

Raise awareness? Well, most people already know kids (and adults) get cancer...it's terrible, but somehow if I have Batman as my avatar, it's going to help?
