The WNBA got their "Michael Jordan" in Caitlin Clark, and received record attendance and ratings for her games, but women being women, they got jealous and catty and have potentially "succeeded" in running her off overseas to play in Europe. If I'm Clark why go back? She will make more money and have less headaches in Europe or Asia than she has here. But does it matter? Even with Clark, the league still managed to lose $40m this year overall. Now the players opt out of the CBA, because they want additional revenue sharing? I know most women suck at math, so it would be great if somebody there could educate their players union that this only works when the organization makes a profit.
If I'm the NBA, I'm pulling the life support and telling the WNBA that they are on their own. There's too much drama, too much lost money, and zero benefit of having the league around.
