Jim Mora on Washington job: "That was a joke that cost me a job. It was never a consideration. Was trying to play compliment to alma mater."

Translation: make me a REAL offer, ya bish.

So where does the legend come from that Woodward went after him and he rebuffed the UW? My guess all along has been that that story is 100% bullshit. Mora was never talked to. It's a lie from the AD to make it seem like he went after some decent coaches before being forced to take the young up and coming OC.

Staff! True?

It wasn't a joke...he has to say that now as coach of UCLA

Really? Why? Why would UCLA care about him amplifying or clarifying what he meant 7 years ago (or whenever) about another job while he was holding down yet another?

I'm guessing he can say almost anything he wants for a while, and if he starts losing, nothing he would or wouldn't say would matter anyway.

If you guys think talk gets you hired or fired in that business, then I refer you to youtube and suggest you type in "Steve Spurrier Post Game". Have fun.

I take it you've never heard of Steve Sarkisian then?
