Seeing Del Rio today reminded me of one of the most absurd ideas put forth by Kum Grizzler several years ago. After UW fired Holt, he was talking up Del Rio as a replacement and suggested there was a chance it could happen. Myself and a few others totally scoffed at the idea, questioning why a guy who was an NFL coach for 9 seasons would suddenly become a DC for a mediocre college program and work under a glorified babysitter in his first head coaching job. It would have amounted to a double demotion. Anyhow it was played up as a possibility by Griswold and some people believed it.
