Two years of absolute bullshit.
I was heading to Spokane that Wednesday for a guys’ trip we take each year to an NCAA tournament site. Things were being shut down in real time and our group text reflects it as I looked back on that thread. That was so fucking stupid. What a time to live in Slabtown and watch many of the small businesses close over 18 months.
Headed to OKC next Wednesday for the same trip, which happens to be my brother’s 50th birthday too. He picked OKC when we could have gone to San Diego.
“Everyone has been to San Diego so I choose OKC.”
Well no shit, and it would have been nice to visit San Diego again. But, I’ve never been to OKC and will never go again, so let’s eat steaks and BBQ and Top Golf “golfing” on Friday watching the games at other sites.
That's ultimately how the Throbber's discovered the joys of the SC/Georgia lowland. Needed to GTFO out of the People's Republic of Inslee for some cultural relief after the summer lake season in the Free State of Idaho. Had never been and, at the time, figured it was a solo trip for some amazing food.
Now its going to be the retirement spot when the time is right.
