It's like a kid quit smoking but you make him smoke the entire pack because you wanted him to quit 15 minutes earlier.
I'm sure it can be found, but ESPN or Sporting News had a "projected National Champuonship games" article like 5 years ago that predicted an Oregon/ Maryland national championship game around 2020. Their rationale was that the rival shoe companies would essentially take over college football. I guess we'll have to see if it comes to fruition.
