Class of 2023 five-star wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr. has committed to LSU, he announced on Instagram on Saturday.

Sampson Jr. is ranked as the No. 33 overall prospect and No. 4 wide receiver in the 2023 class, per the 247Sports Composite.

The 6-foot-4, 181-pound commit picked the Tigers over Alabama, Florida State, and Texas A&M. As a junior at Catholic (Baton Rouge, La.), he helped his team to a 12-1 record and the Louisiana Division I state title.

Coincidentally, this kid's father also played RB

Shelton Sampson Jr. played a key role in helping his team win a state championship as a junior and sophomore while finishing runner up during his freshman season. Sampson’s father, Shelton Sampson Sr., was a standout running back at Northwestern State[/b] after starring at Baton Rouge’s Redemptorist High.
