If a goon like Daniel Jones can put up pedestrian numbers and still go top 10, you can bet your ass Eason can too. He only needs to not suck.

While I'm raining on the doog parade Clay Helton is equally unlikely to be back next year.

Work through that denial towards acceptance.
 
I don't care if Eason leaves. If he leaves, he had a good season and UW goes to the playoff. I would be perfectly happy if that happened and Eason left.

Pretty much. He gone.

But maybe we sniff enough of a ship he decides to come back to try and win it all.

We aren't going to know for sure until it happens.

Unless he really sucks and then none of it matters anyways.

Difference is both of those guys bled PURPLE/GRELLOW and stuck with the program they grew up idolizing and couldn't imagine playing for anyone else.

Eason blew off Pete (not Sark), bailed to the opposite corner of the country and only came back when he lost his job.

I'm sure he'd like UW to do well but he doesn't love his school to his own detriment like those two.

Nor should he.

The only thing that will keep Helton around is the ineptitude of the USC AD.

So there's a chance.
