Jason Whitlock: NFL Draft SHOCKER: Falcons Take Michael Penix After Breaking the Bank for Cousins

black players only get the most downtrodden of depth charts
I don't think it's fair to call Penix injury-prone after two years of not missing a start.
That being said, I know he will have some injuries in the NFL. But I don't think it's something to fear.

For the record, I think all the QBs were incredibly overdrafted and I don't see even one of the six becoming a Mahomes or Brady. But given that the NFL mindset is to overdraft QBs, I think Cowherd gets it much closer to right than most of these pundits.

I can't watch 51 minutes of Whitlock—did he ever get to the race angle he seemed to be teasing?

He thought the pick at #8 was ridiculous but because the coach and GM are both black they won't receive the criticism they would have had then been white. It's possible, but I think he's wrong on this one.

Agree. Atlanta has been lambasted over it. I don’t know how much more criticism he thinks it could get.
