Is Jamal Adams functionally retarded?

As it stands, he is willing to sacrifice long term wealth for playing on a tag for each of the next two years, for less money, with no guarantees?

Doesn't have to make a deal this year. He can wait it out and not lose anything as far as the offer that's on the table, probably get a better one. He could also force a sign and trade next off-season if he decides Seattle won't pay him and he wants out. I think the injury/money issue is often overblown. ACL's are no longer a career ender or really even reduce an athlete's abilities. That's pretty much worst-case for him. The Alex Smith injuries are once in a decade and don't really happen to safeties.
