I'm not sold on Charlie Strong

He's also probably not edgy enough ...

It'll be interesting to see how many kids transfer ...

... And if nobody transfers it'll also be really fucking interesting ....

He hasn't recruited the 6* studs out of the lone star state that he's gonna need to make it work there. Will he? Only time will tell. So far the results have been mixed.

The class was shaping up to be a monster under the old staff though only we know that because of an exclusive given to us by one of the GAs. Failing to capitalize on this momentum will be a bad sign for where things are headed. How long do we wait to see the results we're accustomed to?

I hear he's got a lot of raw coaching talent, just gotta roll the whistle out there and see what happens

I don't care if he wants to give us access.

So Charlie, how much access are you going to allow us at practice?

I hear Texas is MAJORLY screwed because Strong is bringing in his own guys. From what I understand, if you don't retain coaches from a mediocre staff there's no continuity and shit, and you're bound to fail.

He hasn't signed a recruit yet or got his staff together. I'm just saying it seems odd is all. Just because I don't praise him doesn't mean I hate him

Mack Clown (lol!) had a great record. It will be interesting to see if Charlie Strong can match it, if not that will also be interesting.

Texass is at or near the bottom in terms of the elite tier. Jokelahomo, ND, SC, Alabama, and maybe even Nebraska have more NCs. Those of you who are 30 or older probably remember how ordinary they were in the 80s and 90s - Lots of six & five, lots of 4th place finishes in the SWC. The media usually gets carried away in giving them credit for tradition they don't have.

According to the metrics Strong has done a good job at LV but nowhere near the kind of job Meyer did at BG & Utah or CP at Boise.

The 15 game thing is fucking stupid. How'd that workout for Willingham at ND? Weiss at ND? Neuheisel at UW? Harbaugh really picked it up in years 3 and 4. Carroll was 8-7 in his first 15 then 56-4 in his next 60. Don James was basically 500 until season 3.

We knew what we had in UWs last 4 coaches after 15 games. And we were right.
