If you fire Romar

Romar is not getting fired for another two years at least no matter how mediocre or bad the Husky basketball team is because of his contract...No need to even have any conversations on this topic.
 
When the question is raised like this I think you do two things. 1. Insure you have facilities that are equal or superior to other sin your conference. 2. Focus on a coaching candidate that has proven to be a superior recruiter and who has either taken teams to the big dance or is right on the cusp of doing so. Then you open your wallet to whatever amount it takes to get the coach. Hand wringing and excuses are never going to improve on a mediocre situation.
 
I've heard the facilities excuse used often for the basketball program. I've asked numerous times for someone to explain to me where our facilities are lacking. I'm still waiting for an answer to that question.
 
And how's that working out for Oregon?

Facilities are just a BS excuse that hides other issues and problems.

The problem with the UW football program was never Husky Stadium and the renovation of as much. Does it help that we remodeled the stadium? Absolutely. But the problem with the facilities had more to do with the impact on the fans than anything else.
