I don't watch or give a shit about baseball, but what kind of bullshit is this to count his hits in Japan as some kind or record? More pussification of America.

Oh, and Pete Rose should never have been banned.

The thing of it is, if everyone adds their minor league hits there's still only 5 players in history with 4000 hits.

It's not the same as 4000 MLB hits, but it's pretty damn impressive. Especially since he's had more hits per year in MLB than he did in Japan.
 
I DO like baseball, and I can't stand that little shit. Hated him as a mariner, and still hate him. Hit a ball to the right side to move a runner, hit a sac fly or lay out to make a catch and then pop off.

He was an exciting payer in his prime, but he's always been an overrated player. He didn't walk much and hit for little power. All he cared about was getting 200 hits every year and he admitted so. That's what they cared about in Japan.

There were always stories about how much power he displayed in batting practice, but it never translated to the games because he cared too much about getting 200 hits to sacrifice some batting average for home runs.
